Jorge Mendoza

Born in Mexico City and raised in Santa Cruz, California, his urge to travel led him to San Francisco, Oakland, Oaxaca, Jalisco and Guanajutato. Since his arrival in Barrio Logan in 2012, he has been a constant force within the local art movement. His skills are many, including drawing, painting, ceramics, tattooing and photography. Jorge's murals grace walls and alleys throughout Barrio Logan. His tattoos, with his unique Sinner’s Brand, adorn the bodies of many in Barrio Logan and afar. As an anthropology student at City College he learned the silver gelatin technique shared in this exhibit. Jorge also opened The Nest, an art and music venue for local artisans to sell their work and offered a much-needed space for all-age bands to perform.  He continues to push his boundaries through experimentation with new mediums, and collaboration other artists. It is our pleasure to exhibit Jorge's work in our opening show.
